Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 2 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate diced chicken breast with soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), black pepper, salt, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and cornstarch slurry in a bowl.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat and cook marinated chicken until golden brown (4–5 minutes). Set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onion and minced garlic until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
  5. Add chopped cabbage, sliced bell pepper, and julienned carrot; stir-fry until tender yet crisp (5–6 minutes).
  6. Return chicken to the skillet, pour in the prepared sauce, and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to combine flavors.
  7. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot garnished with green onions.
