  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup 2% Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter (for buttercream)
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for buttercream)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate (for ganache)
  • 4 oz heavy cream
  • 23 tsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Make the cookie dough by creaming together butter and sugars. Add milk, vanilla, flour, and salt, folding in chocolate chips. Chill.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar for the cake, then mix in eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and alternate adding milk and yogurt until smooth.
  3. Bake in greased pans for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool layers on racks.
  4. For buttercream, beat softened butter, add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in flour, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, salt, and fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Assemble by layering cooled cakes with cookie dough buttercream and frost the entire cake.
  6. Prepare ganache by heating cream and mixing with chopped chocolate; drizzle over the frosted cake.
