- 2 tbsp Kashmiri green tea
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1–2 star anise
- 2 crushed cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups whole milk
- Sugar or honey to taste
- Crushed nuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Boil water in a saucepan; add green tea and boil for 5 minutes.
- Stir in baking soda; continue boiling for 2 minutes until the water turns deep red.
- Add star anise, cardamom, and cinnamon; boil for another minute.
- Reduce heat; simmer for 20-30 minutes until reduced by half.
- Stir in salt; mix well.
- Add whole milk; bring to a boil while stirring constantly until it turns pink.
- Strain into cups and sweeten with sugar or honey as desired; garnish with crushed nuts.
