  • 245 grams (1 and 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 225 grams (1 and 1/2 cups) dark or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 50 grams (1/2 cup) walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Sea salt flakes for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line two baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cold butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add vanilla extract and cold egg; mix until just blended.
  3. Combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and optional salt in another bowl before adding them to the wet mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms. Gently fold in chocolate and walnuts.
  4. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie onto the baking trays with space in between.
  5. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely on trays, then sprinkle with sea salt.
