- 16 string cheeses (cut in half)
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons milk
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Marinara sauce for serving
Instructions
- Set up three bowls: one with flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dip each cheese stick into flour, then egg mixture, followed by breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crunch.
- Place coated sticks on parchment-lined trays and freeze for at least 2 hours.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry cheese sticks in small batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels before serving immediately with marinara sauce.
