  • 1 cup white sugar (for homemade salted caramel)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (cut into 5 pieces, for homemade salted caramel)
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream (for homemade salted caramel)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for homemade salted caramel)
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt (for homemade salted caramel)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix vegetable oil, brown sugar, white sugar until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree; blend well.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
